Macbook pro Keyboard Backlight won’t turn on.

A light intensity sensor near FaceTime HD camera is the answer to this problem. Apple has done some intelligent work to associate Keyboard Backlight and Screen brightness with environment light intensity. It sure has to be this way in order to give marvalous 7 hr battery backup.
If in bright day light you press F6 you get no response, but as soon as you keep hand near to camera you’ll see F5 and F6 functioning.
Hope this helps!
